42nd Annual Spring Powwow

The Louisiana Indian Heritage Association sponsors powwows each spring and fall in affiliation with the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities.

The 42nd Annual Spring Powwow will be held April 25-27, 2008, at a new location, in the Lamar Dixon Arena in Gonzales, LA. The LAEH topic is “Native American Rights”

A powwow is a family reunion, revival, and cultural festival celebrating Native American traditions. It is an educational function that can be experienced by families and individuals of all ages. There will be Native American music, dancing, food, and a variety of authentic crafts.

The powwows, which are drug and alcohol free, are family friendly and open to the public, Indian and non-Indian alike.
